Part of Adult Learning disability Service. This is the main support service for people with learning disabilities and their families. The team consists of social workers, community nurses, carers assessor, psychologists, speech and language therapist, psychiatrist, occupational therapist, physiotherapist and community support workers. The team is responsible for arranging and reviewing people’s needs against the Council’s eligibility criteria and for completing carer’s assessments. It is also responsible for arranging and funding from the Community Care budget to meet people’s needs, and for reviewing their care packages each year. | ||||

Barnado's provide a short break service to support disabled children and their families in Herefordshire. Barnado's are working in partnership with Herefordshire County council and will receive all their referrals through the children with Disabilities Team at the Kite Centre (1 Ledbury Road). Two types of short breaks are offered: firstly short breaks, eg one weekend per month. Secondly sessional support, where the child/young person is supported for a number of hours each week to access community facilities.From 1 April 2009, Barnado's can offer a domiciliary care service, referrals coming through the Kite Centre. | ||||

This organisation was set up to support anyone who looks after a person who because of disability or the effects of age cannot manage without help. They provide telephone advice, visit, support groups, newsletter, telephone network, emergency card, short-term relief care scheme, young carers project. | ||||
